About Us

THE
COMMUNITY

Digital Nomads TH is not just a website — it is a living, breathing collective of freelancers, remote workers, and digital entrepreneurs who chose Thailand as their operating base. We exist to make that choice smarter, easier, and more rewarding.

Our Mission

To be the most trusted, honest, and practical resource for location-independent professionals navigating life in Thailand — cutting through the noise so you can focus on the work and adventures that matter.

Our Vision

A Thailand where every digital nomad can arrive, set up, and thrive — backed by a community that shares knowledge freely and lifts each other up, whether you are on your first visa run or your fifth year.

Our Values

Radical transparency. Community over competition. Respect for Thai culture and people. Practical advice over aspirational fluff. We celebrate Thailand for what it truly is — not just the postcard version.

The Story

Born From
Frustration,
Built With
Community

Digital Nomads TH started as a WhatsApp group in a Chiang Mai coworking space. A handful of freelancers were tired of contradictory visa advice, outdated blog posts, and the constant churn of people arriving without a clue. So they built something better.

What began as a 40-person chat thread has grown into a full-stack resource platform and community serving thousands of nomads across every major Thai hub — from the mountains of Chiang Mai to the beaches of Koh Samui.

How We Got Here

Our Timeline

2019

The Spark — Chiang Mai, Q3

A group of 40 location-independent workers in a Nimman coworking space started sharing visa updates, housing leads, and co-working reviews in a private group chat. The seed of Digital Nomads TH was planted.

2020

The Pandemic Pivot

When borders closed, the community became a lifeline. We published Thailand's most comprehensive resource guide for stranded nomads — visa extensions, emergency contacts, local support networks. Membership tripled in six months.

2021

Platform Launch

The Digital Nomads TH website went live with curated guides for Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Koh Lanta, and Phuket. Monthly meetups in all four cities began, and our first official sponsor — a Sukhumvit coworking brand — came on board.

2022

LTR Visa Advocacy

Thailand introduced the Long-Term Resident visa — and Digital Nomads TH published the first plain-English breakdown for remote workers. Our guide was cited by international media and helped thousands navigate the new pathway.

2023

Community Events Programme

We launched a structured monthly events calendar: skill shares, rooftop networking nights, day trips to lesser-known Thai destinations, and an annual summit in Chiang Mai. Attendance broke 500 people at a single event for the first time.

NOW

12,000+ Members & Growing

Today Digital Nomads TH is the definitive resource hub for nomads in Thailand — covering visa paths, coworking reviews, city guides, tax basics, healthcare, and culture. The community runs itself as much as we run it.

Who We Serve

Real People.
Real Work.
Real Thailand.

Our community spans every discipline and every life stage. Software developers running startup sprints from Chiang Mai. Designers spending three months in a beachside villa on Koh Lanta. Consultants using Bangkok as their Asian HQ. Writers who discovered they could afford a good life here on a moderate income.

What unites them is not a lifestyle aesthetic — it is a practical commitment to making remote work sustainable in one of the world's most welcoming countries.

What We Stand For

Our Core Commitments

Accuracy First

Every visa guide, coworking review, and legal explainer is fact-checked by people who have lived the experience. We update content when rules change — because outdated advice costs people real money and stress.

Peer Knowledge

Our best content comes from community members themselves — accountants explaining Thai tax, landlords explaining lease traps, long-termers explaining what nobody else will tell you about living here long-term.

Cultural Respect

Thailand is not a backdrop for your content. We actively promote respectful integration — understanding local customs, supporting Thai-owned businesses, and treating Thailand as a privilege, not an entitlement.

No Gatekeeping

Every resource on Digital Nomads TH is free. No paywalls, no premium tiers, no subscription required. Knowledge about living and working in Thailand should be accessible to everyone — not just those who can afford a course.

Beyond Bangkok

We cover every corner of Thailand worth knowing about — from the digital infrastructure of Chiang Mai to the rising coworking scene in Hat Yai, the island rhythms of Koh Lanta, and the expat suburbs of Hua Hin.

Real Conversations

Community forums, monthly meetups, and direct peer connections mean you can always get a real answer from a real person who has been in your exact situation — not just another blog post written to game search engines.

Digital Nomads TH works because its members give back. If you have navigated a Thailand visa process, found a great coworking space, or learned something the hard way — your experience is exactly what someone else needs right now.

Whether you contribute a written guide, host a local meetup, answer questions in the community forums, or simply share your honest review of a space — every contribution makes this resource more valuable for everyone who comes after you.

Submit a Guide

Write up your experience with a visa type, coworking space, neighbourhood, or Thai city. We review and publish quality submissions with full credit.

Host a Meetup

Already in a Thai city? Organise a casual meetup and we will promote it to all local community members. No experience required — just a venue and a date.

Review a Space

Coworking spaces, cafes, co-living, or apartments — honest reviews from real users are the most valuable thing on this platform. One honest review helps dozens of future nomads.
